Excavating rock art in Strath Tay day 5: Survey and quartz

Today we continue to define the features within the trench. A scatter of rubble appears to be contained within a series of bedrock exposures. One of these outcrops bears a cup mark and others are beginning to look less like the kerb of a cairn.

In one area, trowelling has revealed an exposure of quartz which appears to have been worked. This looks quite different from the placed flakes of quartz we have found elsewhere and requires further investigation.
