Visiting rock art with television presenter Paul Murton for BBC TV

Earlier this year, I visited the rock art site at Cairnbaan, in western Scotland, accompanied by television presenter Paul Murton and a film crew.

After introducing the site to Paul, and admiring the view across Kilmartin Glen, we talked about the possible interpretations of the abstract carvings. They date to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, and there have been over a hundred different suggestions for what they might mean.
